Kitchen remedies
Favour naturally cooling foods and drinks: coriander, fennel and cumin waters; soaked sabja (basil) seeds and soaked raisins; cucumber, ash-gourd, bottle-gourd, mint, coconut water, buttermilk, amla and rose; and sweet seasonal fruit. Ease off very spicy, sour, fried and fermented foods, tea/coffee, alcohol and the midday sun. Traditional cooling measures include a khus (vetiver) or sandalwood infusion and a cooling scalp/foot oiling with coconut or brahmi oil in the evening.

Cautions
This is everyday cooling-wellness for a warm feeling or constitution, not a treatment for any disease. A persistent burning sensation with numbness or tingling, a high fever, burning on passing urine, or heat-illness signs (dizziness, confusion, very little urine, collapse) are medical matters - see HR200 for heatstroke first aid and seek care.
