Kitchen remedies

Cut down on caffeine (tea, coffee, colas, energy drinks); rest well and manage stress; steady blood sugar with regular balanced meals (a tremor with hunger and sweating can be a sugar dip - see HR184); calming routines such as slow breathing, and warm milk with traditional nervine herbs in the evening; check with a pharmacist whether any of your medicines can cause tremor.

Cautions

A fine tremor brought on by stress, fatigue or caffeine, or a long-standing family (essential) tremor, is usually harmless. A tremor that is worsening, present at rest, one-sided, or comes with other symptoms needs assessment (thyroid, neurological and medication causes must be checked).
