Food-first comfort
For breastfed babies: mother can reduce very gassy foods and stay hydrated. Warm (not hot) tummy compress, gentle tummy massage, bicycle-legs, upright winding after feeds.
What to nourish
Breastmilk on demand; correct paced bottle-feeding to reduce swallowed air.
Never
Do NOT give gripe water, ajwain/fennel water, honey, sugar water, or herbal drops to young infants without medical advice. Never leave a baby unattended with a compress.
Care at home
Colic is common and passes by ~3-4 months. Check feeding technique. The main treatment is calm, patient comfort and caregiver support.
