Kitchen remedies
Keep ears dry; tilt and gently dry after bathing/swimming; a warm compress for comfort; do NOT insert cotton buds; traditional garlic-mullein warm oil drop (only if the eardrum is known intact)
Featured herbs
Garlic (Allium sativum) [traditional ear-oil, external], Mullein (Verbascum) [traditional ear oil], Tulsi (Ocimum sanctum) [warm oil tradition], Neem (Azadirachta indica)
How to prepare
Dry the ear gently after water exposure (tilt, soft towel, cool hair-dryer at arm's length). A warm compress eases discomfort. Traditional warm garlic-infused oil drops are used ONLY when the eardrum is intact and there is no discharge. Avoid cotton buds and keep water out until settled.
Cautions
Do NOT put any drops/oil in the ear if there is discharge, severe pain, or any chance of a burst eardrum, or in children with grommets. Never insert cotton buds or objects.
