Kitchen remedies
A nourishing, antioxidant-rich diet: nuts (especially walnuts), pumpkin and sesame seeds, dals, milk and ghee, leafy greens, tomatoes, pomegranate and seasonal fruit; zinc and folate foods matter (see HR240, HR239). Cut out tobacco and cut down alcohol, keep a healthy weight, manage stress and sleep well, and avoid excess heat to the groin (very hot baths, laptops on the lap, tight synthetic underwear).
Featured herbs
Walnuts & nuts, Pumpkin seeds, Milk & ghee, Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) [uncommon-revival], Kaunch beej / Mucuna pruriens [uncommon-revival], Safed Musli (Chlorophytum borivilianum) [uncommon-revival], Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris) [uncommon-revival]
How to prepare
Eat a varied, antioxidant-rich diet with nuts, seeds, milk and greens, and keep to the zinc and folate foods above. Stop tobacco, limit alcohol, keep active and near a healthy weight, sleep well, and keep the groin cool. Traditional tonic herbs such as ashwagandha or safed musli are taken as supportive adjuncts.
Cautions
This is supportive nutrition and lifestyle only. Couples who have been trying for over a year (or over six months if the woman is above 35) should have a proper fertility assessment for BOTH partners - many causes are treatable and some are in the female partner. Herbs are adjuncts, not treatments.
